Creating spaces for dialogue

Regardless of how an idea is realized, I find myself seeking artistic ways to understand concepts related to communication, exchange, and awareness through interactions. Creating an inclusive a safer space where everybody can share, experiment, and be is what motivates to build with others and with the world around me.
Story Data – Muistoja säästä is a collaboration with climate change researcher Stephanie Mazon. In this project, science and art come together as as a community, we explore what has been happening in the environment through sharing stories. 2018 – present. Let it Out is a joint effort between Anastasia Artemeva, Sonny Nyman, and Arlene Tucker. Let It Out is a project that connects young people affected by imprisonment in Russia and in Finland. Let it Out is the current sub-project of Prison Space, which was started in 2015 by Artemeva. 2017 – present. Ryijy: weaving wishes is a site-specific art installation that explores the boundaries between collectivity and individuality through traditional Finnish weaving techniques. 2016 – present. Dear You art project connects international schools and children from around the world aged 4-15 years old by making and sharing art with each other. August 2013 – present. Translation is Dialogue (TID) is an installation of mixed, multimedia artworks, workshops, and live dance performance. November 2010 – present. |
